The article focuses on role of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in making the rules and regulation for the financial crisis giving rise to the Great Recession. Topics discussed include role of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act for promoting the financial stability, rules of SEC for § 1502 and environmental as well as humanitarian disclosure in the U.S. It further discusses impact of the Final Rule on the social and economic aspects of U.S.
