- Abstract
This article provides information on the Phinda Rain Frog (Breviceps carruthersi) based on a survey conducted in the Munywana Conservancy, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. The survey used pitfall and funnel traps to capture specimens of the rain frog. The study found that the rain frog was only captured in the Mixed Zululand Lowveld Savanna vegetation type. A total of 19 rain frogs were captured during the survey, and their size and weight were measured. The study suggests that the rain frog is abundant in the Munywana Conservancy, particularly in the Mixed Zululand Lowveld Savanna. However, more research is needed to understand the species' ecological requirements.
