- Abstract
The article examines periodicals produced on board British naval vessels during Arctic expeditions during the 19th century. Particular focus is given to the periodicals the "North Georgia Gazette and Winter Chronicle," the "Aurora Borealis," and the "Queen's Illuminated Magazine and North Cornwall Gazette". According to the author, explorers used these publications to express both their physical distance and emotional closeness to England.
