- Title
CHAPTER 17. Frau in Arbeit: A Newspaper by Women for Women in British Exile.
- Authors
Brinson, Charmian
- Abstract
This essay examines the role and scope of the London-based women's newspaper in exile, Frau in Arbeit, published between 1940 and 1945. Changing its title and editorship on several occasions and with several shifts in direction, the paper was Communist-driven, though without ever openly declaring its affiliation. The essay considers the various ways in which Frau in Arbeit conceived of and attempted to carry out its mission to refugee women.
