- Abstract
The article presents a study on the association between deformation structure and work hardening behaviour of high nitrogen austenitic steel (HNS.) Two types of HNS that contain about one mass-% of nitrogen with and without manganese alloys were tested through application of tensile stress. Findings revealed that variation in work hardening behaviour among the manganese alloys was caused by dislocation substructure changes to the dislocation cell from planar dislocation array.
