- Abstract
The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from three charophytes were separated and identified by TCT-GC/ MS. As a result, 43 species components were identified, and they belong to alkanes, ketones and alcohols, etc. There are some differences among the contents of volatile constituents in Chara inconnexa, Chara vulagris and Nitellopsis obtusa. The mean component in C. inconnexa and C. vulagris are alkanes, while the content of the component of volatile constituents in N. obtusa is similitude, which implied there was diversity between difference genera. In all identified components, (E)-2-Hexenal, α-Pinene, 3-Menthene and Benzothiasole were reported as larvicidal, so charophytes have application potential as pesticides. Benzene hydrocarbons were found in the VOCs, which implied that those components could be absorbed by charophytes, but this effect has distinct diversity also.
