This article discusses the six principles of sustainability identified by the Engineering Council in Great Britain. It advises engineers to contribute to building a sustainable society and use professional and responsible judgment and handle a leadership role. It also suggests to utilize resources efficiently and manage risk to minimize the adverse impact of actions on the people and the environment.
