- Abstract
The article discusses the role of non-heart-beating cadaveric donation (NHBD) in the increasing scarcity of heart-beating donation (HBD). It states that NHBD could provide significant numbers of donors, addressing the decline in HBD as reflected on the published statistics from the National Health Service Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) in Great Britain. However, it relates that closer examinations reveal that only 2.1 organs are transplanted from NHBD compared to 3.4 organs transplanted from HBD.
