- Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of the devolution in Scotland on its political representation. The devolution was undertaken to develop a political class more representative of the country as a whole. In reality the devolution has accelerated trends towards a professional background in Scottish representative. Significant representativeness by gender increased but not social or occupational background. Devolution has not had a positive effect of civil service in the country.
