The article discusses the contracts of dancers of opera company Pantheon Opera House from 1790-1792. There is no substantive difference among the contracts even if they are written in French and few are in English. The contract specifies obligations, employment dates and salary to be paid in three equal installments and non-payment in the event of fire or closure. Contracts for principal dancers have more individuality and receive more scrutiny.
