- Abstract
The article offers information on the Le Giornate del Cinema Muto, a week-long festival of silent films, held in Pordenone, Italy, from October 14 to 21, 1989. The festival programme includes rediscovered films, Italian films and unidentified prints, wherein music accompanies all screenings, supplied by marathon piano-players or chamber groups. An overview of the films featured at the event is offered, which includes "After Death," "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Little Fish" and "The Love of a Councillor of State." A section of films by Charlie Chaplin, saluting his centenary, was also included.
