- Abstract
Data on several populations of Russia have been used to demonstrate that the change in the endogamy index detected in the second half of the 20th century is not global. Migration activity remains high in populations with relatively low endogamy indices, and their endogamy does not change with time. In regions with medium and high endogamy indices, these values also tend to remain stable. The endogamy indices of urban populations are increasing, and those of rural populations are decreasing.
