- Abstract
The article reports that the first official audit of Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) of 1990 by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) reveals shortcomings at the NAGPRA agency. It says that the GAO report finds that the NAGPRA agency, which has a yearly budget of 1 million dollars, has poor record-keeping and insufficient resources that delay repatriations. The report also reveals that the office recruits its members of its own liking.
