- Title
Global change: West-side story of Antarctic ice.
- Authors
Huybrechts, Philippe
- Abstract
The article discusses two research papers concerning the generating of data to allow human knowledge of climatic conditions in past epochs to serve as a model for future sea-level rise resulting from global warming. The papers focus on the early to middle Pliocene Period to reconstruct Antarctica's glacial history. Observational evidence was obtained from a sediment core taken from beneath the Ross Ice Shelf, providing the authors with insight about cycles dictating summer sea ice and tectonic forces.
