- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the streamflow response to seasonal snowcover change over the Yukon River watershed. Remotely sensed weekly snow water equivalent (SWE) and snow cover extent (SCE) data were utilized in the investigation. It quantifies the seasonal cycles and variations of snowcover, both SWE and SCE, and river streamflow. An examination and comparison of the weekly streamflow and snowcover change during the spring melt season were conducted. It also presents the comparative analyses of the weekly basin SWE versus SCE, peak snowmelt floods, and climatic variables indicate consistency among basin SWE, SCE, and temperature.
