- Abstract
The article examines the music of Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk which is reportedly imaginative and unusual. It explores the relationships between Björk's use of identity performance and essentialism and how she represented difference feminism, Icelandic nationalism, maternal aesthetic, and female sensuality. It also analyzes several of Björk's songs which includes "Pleasure Is All Mine" and the political statements of her albums "Volta" and "Medúlla."
