- Abstract
Obtuining cliiral lactones by kinetic resolution is usually catalyzed by lipase, however, enzyme catalysis has the disadvantages of single substrate range and high price. Apparently, efficient methods in catalytic moded are -still highly demanded. In this paper, we reported the first example of the kinetic resolution of 6-substituted caprolactone at 0 °C using chiral phosphoric acid as catalyst, toluene as solvent, benzyl alcohol as nucleophile, affording the product in moderate enantioselectivity. A wide range of substrates were effective in this method. The method has the advantages of simple and mild reaction conditions, and makes up for th6 shortcomings of narrow substrate range and high cost with lipase catalysis.
