- Abstract
Carrier mobility is an important parameter for organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). It directly determines the output and operating frequency of OFETs, which is of key significance for practical applications of electronic paper and radio frequency identification tags. In order to improve carrier mobility of the OFETs using the poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and polystyrene (PS) mixture as the semiconductor layer, the crystallization of P3HT near the interlayer induced by the crystallized magnesium acetylacetonate is proposed. The property evolutions of OFETs with the concentration of magnesium acetylacetonate being doped into the cross-linked polyvinyl phenol (CPVP) to form the dielectric material are studied. The results indicate that when using proper concentration (0.6%) of magnesium acetylacetonate doped in widely used CPVP as dielectric layer, the carrier mobility of the device can reach a maximum of 2.88 X 10-2 cm² * V-1 * s-1, which is about 11 times as high as the control device based on a pure CPVP dielectric layer.
