- Abstract
This article examines the connection between mobility, social reproduction, and exploitation from a critical legal standpoint. It emphasizes the importance of understanding how mobility and reproduction are intertwined in order to develop a feminist perspective on borders and migration. The article discusses how systems of mobility control perpetuate a separation between production and reproduction, and how this devaluation of social reproduction is reflected in legislation and legal frameworks. It also explores the impact of forced migration and the discourse of crisis on the reproduction of life. The article concludes by examining the limitations of the contractual model of exploitation in addressing structural conditions. Additionally, the text explores the concept of social reproduction and its relationship to exploitation and mobility control. It argues that focusing solely on the unfair relations between parties involved in exploitation overlooks the multiple beneficiaries of exploitation and diverts attention from the processes of capital accumulation. The text emphasizes the living conditions and reproduction of labor power among migrant workers, highlighting that these conditions are not objective circumstances but political conditions shaped by border and migration policies. It suggests that the struggle for freedom of movement is a feminist struggle that challenges the mutually sustaining systems of capitalism, patriarchy, and colonialism.
