The article presents a study which examines the equine behavior patterns at pasture using a single axial accelerometer. The study uses training data, threshold value, and sensitivity and precision rates to determine the validity of the technique in classifying the pattern of equine behavior. Results show that the accelerometer is effective in the classification of locomotor activities in horses.
