- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the use of radiomics analysis to differentiate between pulmonary hamartomas (HAs) and carcinoid tumors (NENs) in the lung. The study found that radiomics features, such as maximum diameter and gray level emphasis, could effectively distinguish between the two entities. However, the article also mentions that post-contrastographic features can be used to diagnose solitary pulmonary nodules, and that a simple biphasic contrast-enhanced CT scan can accurately differentiate between HAs and NENs. The authors suggest that while artificial intelligence and radiomics are valuable tools, it is important for radiologists to also rely on basic diagnostic methods.
