- Abstract
The article presents a study which shows that overcrowding of Baltimore Checkerspot Euphydryas phaeton (E. phaeton) causes oviposition mistakes in it. It mentions that E. phaeton uses host plant Plantago lanceolata for oviposition and larval feeding. It further mentions factors to this oviposition mistake which include unavailability of Plantago lanceolata; abundance of Asclepias syriaca as nectar source; and similarity in growth form of milkweed with the host plant.
