- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the global pigment database measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) through the Marine Ecosystem Data (MAREDAT). It says that the database can be use in remote sensing, marine ecology and ecological modeling communities which supports model validation and the improvement of marine biodiversities. It tells that the methods employing chemotaxonomic identification of pigment ratios specific to algal classes are required for data interpretation.
