- Title
American Legal Education and Professional Despair.
- Authors
French, David
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights regarding legal education in the U.S. The author states that law students did not learn how to practice law because they were convinced by law schools to pursue careers that serve public interest. To address the problem, the author suggests that students should have actual practice of their learning through clinical legal education. The author also notes law schools' failure to prepare their students for the demands and challenges of the profession.
