- Title
Not all Azo Dyes Affected by German Ban.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the issues of azo dyes in Germany. According to Eric Clarke, executive secretary of Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigment Manufacturers (ETAD), said that the zero dyes does not affect the German Consumer Goods Ordinance. It reports that the estimated 2000 dyes used, there are 150 dyes fall under the ordinance and it has declared that alternative is available for these dyes. Clarke also states that the accountability for compliance lies directly with the retailer and importer while the dye manufacturer is in the best position. With this, the decree does not require any logical testing of the consumer item.
