- Abstract
The author discusses the long-term outcomes of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) after recovery from dialysis-dependent acute kidney injury. Topics discussed include Acute kidney injury (AKI) being a major complication of MM secreting free light chains (FLC), AKI being identified in majority of patients at the onset of MM and is related with myeloma cast nephropathy (MCN); and MCN is related to the direct nephrotoxicity of FLC.
