- Abstract
This article discusses the political activities and ideology of the Italian scientist and ethnologist Adriano Colocci-Vespucci during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Several topics are discussed, such as how historical experts described him as an Italian fascist, how he had studied the nomadic Romani people in Italy and Europe, as well as why he abruptly changed his area of scientific focum from studying the Romani culture to studying fascism in 1914 and 1915. Also mentioned is Colocci-Vespucci's book on nomadic cultures, called "Gli zingari. Storia di un popólo errante," and the Italian cultural anthropologist Leonardo Piasere's opinion of Adriano Colocci-Vespucci's research and politics.
