- Abstract
The article talks about hybridity or the concept of kil'ayim from the rabbinic law focusing on animal hybrids. Topics include commentaries in the Babylonian Talmud and the Palestinian Talmud, lizard hybrids such as lizardfishes and armadillo lizard, and folklores regarding animal hybrids. The article talks about the Sages of the Talmud Rabbi Ḥanina Ben Dosa who was bitten by a snake like reptile and occurrences of role reversals following a snake bite.
