- Abstract
The article discusses a study which analyses the availability of general practitioner (GP) and factors contributing to their availability for terminally ill patients. A cross-sectional study of Dutch GPs with the aid of a questionnaire was performed. The findings suggests that 86 percent of Dutch-GP's are available out of hours for their own terminally ill patients, GP's views for their work change with generations, and the increasing number of salaried GPs threaten out-of-hours availability.
