- Title
New Year Brings New Challenges for Oncology Reimbursement.
- Authors
Tofthagen, Cherie
- Abstract
The article focuses on the changes related to reimbursement in the oncology department slated by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for 2007. For outpatients, drugs and biologics are to be reimbursed at 106% of their average sales price. The decrease in the payment for second and subsequent imaging procedures has been delayed. Due to the enactment of the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006, the 5% cut to the physician fee schedule has been rescinded.
