- Title
Two 'Allegrain' landscapes at Temple Newsam.
- Authors
Eidelberg, Martin
- Abstract
The article discusses two landscape paintings displayed at the Temple Newsman house near Leeds, England. The author discusses the history of the paintings which were displayed at Temple Newsam before being sold in the 1920s and repurchased for the house in 2008. The landscapes were often attributed to Antoine Watteau but the author suggests they are the work of 18th-century French artist Gabriel Allegrain.
