- Title
Felix Kelly and Brideshead.
- Authors
Bassett, Donald
- Abstract
The article presents a comparison of painter Felix Kelly and Evelyn Waugh's fictional character Charles Ryder. The author observes that Ryder, the protagonist of the novel "Brideshead Revisited," is similar to Kelly in the following terms: both have been commissioned by elite clients; both have a passion for architecture paintings; both of their paintings have sinister dimension; and both artists celebrate continuity in their artworks. However, according to the author, the artists differ in terms of their art philsosophy, with Keller being dissociated with Modernism.
