- Abstract
The article explores the journey made by French translator Amedée Pichot from Paris, France to Edinburgh, Scotland to visit Scottish poet Walter Scott. His book "Voyage Historique et Litteraire en Angleterre et en Écosse" reflected interest in France in English and Scottish art and letters. A background of the French passion for Scott's works is presented. The article also describes several English and Scottish works of art and letters that have had influences of French art of the 1820s.
