- Abstract
The article announces the winners of the first Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction in 2012, as well as discusses the intent and history of the award. It notes that author Anne Enright won the Fiction Award for her novel "The Forgotten Waltz," and Robert K. Massie won the Nonfiction Award for his book "Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman." The awards are cosponsored by the Reference & User Services Association (RUSA) and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
