- Abstract
The article "Flying by Sight: Crowns and Bridges with Hygiene Contour" deals with the design of crowns and bridges in cervical hygiene form. It emphasizes that oversized crown margins and approximal contours, as well as the cement gap, are factors that promote plaque accumulation. Periodontitis caused by poorly accessible interdental spaces and cervical overhanging crown and bridge contours significantly contributes to the reduction of the functional lifespan of dental prostheses. It is recommended to regularly perform oral and interdental hygiene to avoid periodontitis. The design of the cervical contour requires basic knowledge of the macroanatomy of the gingival margin and interdental papilla, as well as the importance of the root attachment of prepared teeth and the cement gap. It is also recommended to regularly undergo professional dental cleanings. The Dreve 3D Printing Community offers a construction platform with optimal adhesion properties and customized software with precisely adjusted printing profiles.
