- Abstract
The article provides information on studies related to genes and genetic systems. A study by Mizuki Ohno and colleagues proposed that 8-oxoguanine is one of the main causes for genomic instability in mammal. Masumi Hidaka et al performed retrovirus-mediated gene-trap mutagenesis followed by screening of mutants specifically resistant to a simple alkylating agent, N-methyl-N-nitrosourea to identify other factors involved in apoptosis. Kazuo Yamamoto and colleagues demonstrated that phenyl hydroquinone efficiently induced aneuploidy in yeast.
