- Title
Autoimmunity: Infection and autoimmunity: the glycolipid link.

- Abstract
The article highlights the research about infection and autoimmunity by Gennaro De Libero and company. The researchers propose a refined model in which bacterial infection induces the production of large amounts of endogenous glycosphingolipid antigen (GSL) by host cells. They suggest that recognition of these by T cells might contribute to autoimmune disease. Generally, the study provides insights into the microbial-induced pathways that upregulate GSL synthesis.
