- Title
White Roofs.
- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by scientists from the U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) which indicates that white roof buildings can cool off cities and lessen some effects of global warming. It mentions that the results were from a computer modeling study that simulates the effects of white roofs on urban areas worldwide. NCAR lead scientist Keith Oleson says that white roof reduces urban heat, however, it remains to be seen if painting roofs with white will be feasible for cities.
