The article presents a study which examines the responses of aphids to autumn tree colors. Anecdotal evidence from field studies supports the predictions that yellow leaves are attractive for aphids whereas red can be insufficiently distinct from green to provoke a response. The authors also discussed the physiological functions of autumn leaf pigments.
