- Title
THE FOUNDERS, THE MOLDERS, AND THE MOLDING MACHINE.
- Authors
Stecker, Margaret Loomis
- Abstract
The article focuses on the introduction of machine molding in the U.S. Skilled artisans were considered sufficient for the production of metal castings for many years. The producers of foundry machinery gradually became ready to equip their machine shops with all sorts of machines that had the ability to relieve them of their dependence on human labor. Molding workers realized that their skill was becoming less important to their employers. The Iron Molders' Union, a labor union of molding workers, is making efforts to protect the interests of the workers.
