The article explains the value of physical therapy and rehabilitation in the acute care (AC) settings in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics mentioned include the challenges facing AC physical therapists including their limited role in discharge planning, the problems affecting the delivery of rehabilitative care to medically complex adult adults, and the benefits of optimal rehabilitation staffing to patients.
