Alber, Jan; Iversen, Stefan; Nielsen, Henrik Skov; Richardson, Brian
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the principles of unnatural narratives and unnatural narratology beyond mimetic models. It evaluates the meaning of unnatural and the significance of unnatural narratology from both classical structuralist and standard cognitive narrative theory. It explores the nature of physically impossible worlds by reviewing several stories to evaluate unnatural storyworlds, unnatural minds and unnatural acts of narration, which include "The Tell-Tale Heart," by Edgar Allan Poe.
