- Abstract
The article focuses on the benefits and drawbacks that harmonization of laws and regulations would bring under the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. It suggests that streamlining pharmaceutical regulations would reduce duplication and red tape and would lower costs. It speculates on a possible decrease in regulatory standards on food and safety, the environment, or data protection. It examines the need for greater transparency in the debate over deregulation and science-related policies.
