- Title
Aerophysics of Flow Past a Blunt Wedge of Finite Dimensions.
- Authors
Surzhikov, S. T.
- Abstract
The results of numerical analysis of the processes of ionization of air in the neighborhood of the surface of a blunt wedge of half-angle φ = 3° and bluntness radius = 1.5 cm in air flow are given on a wide free-stream parameter range. The effects of physicochemical nonequilibrium at the angles of attack α = 0 and 6° are discussed. The temperature fields of the translational degrees of freedom, vibrational excitation of N2 molecules, and the number densities of atomic and molecular components, as well as the electron number densities in the neighborhood of the surface and in the near wake are constructed.
