- Title
WEAKNESS IN MANAGEMENT DECISION MAKING REGARDING PROBATIONARY EMPLOYMENT.
- Authors
GLOBERSON, ARYE
- Abstract
The article looks at weaknesses in management decision making with regards to probationary employment. The number of workers unfamiliar with current technological trends is likely to increase as the result of the gap between the rate of technological change and human limitations in adapting to it. Workers who are unable to accept changes easily or are not able to adopt innovations are likely to have difficulties in finding new jobs. The author notes that it is only natural to expect groups of workers affected or likely to be affected by change to find modes of organization which suit their particular interests. Probationary employment is rarely being used appropriately to serve its intended purpose, particularly in the public enterprises and the Civil Service, where much has been said about probationary employment as being vitally important to good staffing.
