- Title
A Comparison of Alternative Procedures for Collecting Consumer Expenditure Data for Frequently Purchases Products.
- Authors
Sudman, Seymour; Ferber, Robert
- Abstract
This pilot study on alternative means of obtaining consumer expenditure data finds that compensation clearly increased both the level of cooperation and expenditures reported, that government versus university auspices does not make much difference, and that diaries seem to yield more complete and accurate information than telephone procedures, although the latter approach may be very useful for supplementary purposes.
