- Abstract
High entropy alloy coatings have been developed rapidly in recent years. In order to prepare new high entropy alloy powders that can be used for laser cladding, Al, Fe, Ni, Si and Ti elemental powders are used to successfully prepare AlFeNiSiTi amorphous high entropy alloy powder by mechanical alloying. The alloy powders were characterized by X ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy spectrum, vibration sample magnetometer, thermal analyser, vacuum tube furnace and microhardness tester. It was found that with the increase of grinding time, the average particle size of powder first increased and then decreased, and the hardness of powder increased significantly. When the ball grinding time reaches 220 h, a completely amorphous high entropy alloy powder is formed, and the particle size reaches about 3 pim. The powder has favourable mechanical stability and component uniformity. The amorphous high entropy alloy powder prepared is a soft magnetic material with coerce force of 0. 038 emu/g(l emu/g= 1 Am²/kg) * The crystallization temperature of the powder is about 720 °C, the melting point is between 1 350 1 400 °C, and the maximum hardness is 126 HV.
