Pharmaceuticals: Nigeria.
- Abstract
The African Pharmaceutical Technology Foundation (APTF) and Nigeria's National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) have announced a project to improve Nigeria's pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing industry. Nigeria's minister of health, Tunji Alausa, expressed gratitude for the support of the APTF, stating that it would help reduce dependence on imports and accelerate medicines delivery in the country. The APTF aims to remove barriers to domestic manufacturing in Nigeria, driving innovation, competition, and access to high-quality medical products. NIPRD's CEO, Dr Obi Peter Adigwe, highlighted the need for action to advance drug safety and sustainable local production of vaccines in Nigeria.
