- Abstract
The cotton sector, which provides the income of nearly 4m Malians, has been strongly impacted by the coronavirus crisis, leading to an 80% drop in production for the 2020-2021 campaign. B Benin: b West Africa's leading cotton producer since 2018, Benin produced some 728,000 tonnes of cotton during the 2020-2021 season, up by two percent, or 714,714t, in the previous season, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries said on April 17th. The signatories are banks, the Confederation of Cotton Growers' Cooperative Societies (C-SCPC), the Private Sector Guarantee Fund (FGSP) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
