- Abstract
The article titled "Recent Advances in Biobased Foams and Foam Composites for Construction Applications" explores the development and potential of biobased thermally insulating materials for use in residential construction. The review focuses on the fabrication methods, advancements, and future prospects of biobased polyurethanes (BPU), biobased phenol formaldehyde (BPF), and cellulose nanofibers (CNF) foams. These experimental foams have shown properties that are equal to or better than traditional foams used in construction. The article emphasizes the importance of biobased foams being excellent thermal insulators, fire retardant, and possessing strong mechanical properties. The cover image showcases forest waste-based foams that meet these design criteria.
